Partager Auction recommends the National Institute of Appraisers (NIA) for appraisals on all your fine art, antiquities, photography, ceramic and glass works. The NIA can determine valuations for insurance, charitable contributions (donations), divorce, bankruptcy, pre-purchase or pre-sale and estate purposes.

     

For almost two decades, the NIA has been a highly selective membership organization of the nation's leading appraisers of fine art. Its internationally respected membership deals primarily in paintings, drawings, photographs, graphics and sculpture from antiquity to contemporary works of art. 

 

The members are chosen by the Board of Directors after consultation and examination by the entire membership, and is limited to appraisers who have worked in their Field of expertise for a minimum of 10 years. An NIA Certified Appraisal is designed to fulfill all requirements of insurance companies and in the case of donations, all requirements of IRS tax law.

 

No Certified Appraisal by any member of the NIA has ever been overturned or rejected by an insurance company or the IRS.  NIA has also been appointed to the Panel of Experts for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County.

 

By charter, Senior Appraisers are prohibited from the buying or selling of fine art which in the opinion of the NIA constitutes a conflict of interest.
